How to move heavy resources in Romestead

Romestead treats logs, rocks, and ores as physical objects. The official description says they can be carried back to town one at a time, while a cart train handles a larger load. Hauling is therefore part of the resource system, not an invisible number moving between menus.

One heavy object

Hand carrying is the basic rule described by the developer. It matches a single immediate need, but each additional object requires another trip.

A cart train

The cart train is the game’s stated answer to moving several heavy objects together. It changes the size of the load rather than making weight disappear.

Automation is a separate milestone

Romestead also describes towns that grow into automated production hubs. In the official May update notes, the developers call the Logistics Tent a requirement for town automation and moved it earlier in progression. Later notes also confirm that logistics can transport materials from production sites such as claypits and lumberyards.

The useful planning question

Before gathering, decide whether the current objective needs one heavy object or a repeated load. That choice points toward hand carrying, a cart train, or the later logistics system without inventing a universal town layout.
