Game guides
Build faith, guide civilization, and survive rival beliefs.
Pandora's Toybox is a god sim sandbox with roguelite and colony sim systems. This hub focuses on practical answers for new players: early growth, god choice, faith economy, heretic conversion, artifacts, and repeatable run decisions.

Core systems
Gods and Faith Systems Reference
Use this when the run is not failing from one obvious mistake, but from unclear god roles, faith pressure, artifacts, conversion tools, or city-state support timing.

Faith Reserve Gate
Spend faith only when it changes the route
Pandora's Toybox gets messy when faith becomes a reflex instead of a plan. Before casting, ask what gets worse if you wait. If the answer is not heretic spread, population collapse, food pressure, objective timing, or a clean Faith Crystal cash-out, the stronger play is usually to hold the reserve.
God Role Router
Pick gods by the failure they prevent
Do not treat god choice like a static tier list. A strong council is the one that answers the map you are actually playing: growth if the settlement is slow, recovery if disasters keep resetting progress, combat if rival pressure is active, and support if the route needs smoother faith timing.
Choose a council job
Use this when the run feels scattered because every god solves a different problem and no one protects the route.
Power timingUpgrade the power you actually use
Use this when faith spending goes into unlocks that look strong but never decide the scenario.
Reward timingTake prayers by route value
Use this when artifacts and prayers slow the clear instead of making the next run safer.
Meta pathUnlock for repeated failure
Use this when Faith Crystals should fix the problem that keeps appearing across multiple attempts.
Heretic Pressure Route
Conversion is cheaper before the map is already split
Heretics are not only a combat problem. They tax faith timing, distract the council from growth, and can turn a stable city into a reaction loop. If the pressure is small, treat it as a conversion and support problem. If it is already threatening the clear, spend decisively and plan the recovery afterward.
- Spot early: look for rival belief before it touches every part of the route.
- Use the light answer first: conversion and support are usually cleaner than destructive punishment.
- Escalate only with a reason: holy war or wrath should protect the clear, not vent frustration.
- Repair the economy: after a hard answer, rebuild population, resources, and faith reserve before chasing rewards.
Cash-Out Route
When the scenario is safe, turn the run into future power
The site has separate pages for faith, crystals, artifacts, and updates, but the run decision is simple: once the objective is secure, stop making the same city prettier. Cash out, spend Faith Crystals on the bottleneck that slowed the last few clears, then start the next run with a sharper council plan.
Reader route
Recommended reading order
Open first: Beginner Build Order. Start with Beginner Guide for the loop, then Beginner Build Order for the first clean run, then Faith Economy when powers start draining the reserve.
Common first mistake: choosing a god because it sounds strong while the town has no faith reserve or heretic plan.
Patch caution: Version changes can move faith and city-state pressure, so check update-impact pages before treating any god route as permanent.
Source context: Use the official links on this page for store or developer context; the guides here turn that public context into safer route decisions for Pandora's Toybox players.
