Rune Dice Class Relic Reference

Use this page when the run has enough pieces to look strong, but not enough direction to stay alive. It turns Rune Dice class starts, relic jobs, rune timing, shop choices, boss prep, and Classic Mode into route checks you can actually use mid-run.

Quick Answer

If a Rune Dice run feels random, fix the next board before you chase a bigger combo. The safest order is usually: readable dice placement, one class job, support that solves that job, a rune trigger before panic, and a boss answer before the boss node.

The game has eight classes and multiple heroes, but this is not a fake best-class list. Treat each class as a job. Rogue-style routes want poison and pressure to matter. Mage-style routes want chain reactions and field control to stay readable. Warrior-style routes want damage taken and boss pressure to be survivable instead of merely slow.

Class Start Matrix

Class routeUse when the run needsFirst support to look forFailure risk
Rogue / poison pressureDamage that keeps working while dice reposition, especially when fights drag outRelics or runes that buy time, spread pressure, or keep the board from lockingPoison does not save a route that cannot survive the next enemy turn
Mage / lightning chain routeHigh chain payoff from clean throws and predictable follow-up mergesMerge consistency, field manipulation, or runes that protect a setup turnOne flashy chain can hide that the next board is unreadable
Warrior / armor routeTime to absorb bad turns while building a repeatable answerRecovery, block, or boss-control support before greedier dice upgradesSurvival without damage conversion can stall into boss losses
Setup heroA route where one careful turn creates several stronger follow-up turnsDice that keep landing lanes open and relics that reward repeated patternsWeak if route nodes force immediate damage before the setup is ready
Burst heroShort fights, fast deletes, or a boss phase that must end quicklySingle-target conversion and a rune trigger for the turn burst missesFalls apart when minions or field disruption stretch the fight
Control heroBosses or maps that change the field, summon help, or punish long chainsRunes and relics that reset the board state instead of only raising damageCan become too slow if damage is ignored for too long

Relic and Rune Job Table

Relics are permanent route commitments. Runes are tactical fixes. If you treat both as generic power, the run usually becomes harder to read.

Support jobPick it whenWhy it worksWhen not to use it
Merge consistencyYour upgraded dice keep ending in isolated corners or cursed areasIt turns strong dice into repeatable turns instead of one lucky hitThe board is stable and the real problem is boss damage
Field manipulationA boss or map effect keeps changing where safe throws can landIt gives the route a recovery line after the planned throw failsYou are using it because you do not want to simplify the dice plan
Poison or attrition supportThe class plan can survive long enough for delayed damage to matterIt lets turns spent on positioning still advance the fightThe route is already dying before delayed damage can pay off
Armor, revive, or recovery supportOne ugly turn keeps ending otherwise good routesIt protects the next playable board stateYou are replacing boss prep with a hope that recovery will cover everything
Boss burst supportThe board is controlled but bosses outlast the routeIt converts clean setup into a phase answerNormal nodes are still messy or the class job is unclear
Unlock or achievement supportYou are cleaning up goals such as boss clears, platform achievements, or Classic Mode accessIt gives the run a target beyond just survivingYou still need a stable clear route first

Shop Spend Matrix

Before buying, ask which layer the purchase fixes: board readability, class job, support timing, boss answer, or recovery.

New diceThe class job is clear and the die makes the next merge path easier. It adds another color, angle, or job that the route cannot support. Can you name the next merge before the next fight?
RelicIt reinforces the route you are already playing. It asks the build to become a different class plan.Does it fix setup, control, scaling, recovery, or boss burst?
RuneYou can name the fight or board state that will make you spend it.It will sit unused because you are saving every consumable for later. What is the trigger: minions, bad field, low health, or boss phase?
Healing or safetyOne mistake will end the run before the build gets another shop. The route is safe and needs a boss answer instead. Will safety buy a playable turn or only delay the same failure?
Save gold / take route safetyEvery offer solves the wrong problem. The missing layer is obvious and available now. What exact purchase would make the next shop worth spending?

Boss Pressure Matrix

Rune Dice bosses can summon extra enemies, manipulate the dice field, or change combat rules. Start boss prep from that pressure, not from the biggest damage number on the shop screen.

Classic Mode and Hand Size Check

Classic Mode changes the question. You are no longer only asking whether the current hero can clear a short session. You are asking whether the dice deck stays readable across all three locations, with a randomized boss from each area and a chosen hand size before the run begins.

Classic Mode questionSafer answerWhy it matters
Have you defeated enough unique bosses to unlock it?Classic Mode requires 6 unique boss defeats. If you are still short, route around boss variety first instead of forcing long-run planning.
How many dice should appear on the table?Choose a hand size that leaves the plan readable, not merely bigger.Official examples include 10, 15, and 20; a large inventory can create dead draws if only some dice support the route.
Can the class survive three maps?Prefer support that works after the first boss, not only in the first location.Longer runs punish narrow combos that need one perfect field.
Is Hardcore enabled?Only turn it on after the normal Classic route has a repeatable answer.Extra difficulty exposes every unfixed board, shop, and boss-prep habit.
Does the boss pool match the current menu?Check the current Classic Mode screen before planning around one boss.Launch notes excluded Bone Clown from Classic Mode, and boss availability can change later.

Patch and Current Build Check

Patch v1.0.2 removed the old Normal Mode boss requirement for Hard Mode, fixed cursed-area merge problems during the Blight Druid boss battle, updated Gift Board access, and touched Soul Anchor behavior. Patch v1.1.1 fixed achievement syncing and made Soul Anchor trigger on fatal reflected damage from Stone Skin when using a physical attack.

Practical rule: if an old route depends on poison death, reflected damage, cursed-area merging, Gift Board access, or achievement cleanup, retest that exact job before changing your whole class plan.

Achievement and Build Signal Check

Achievement guides, full-walkthrough posts, and boss threads are useful because they show what players keep needing to look up: class progress, all-boss coverage, hand-limit clears, save safety, and late-run cleanup. Do not copy a route as a locked build. Translate it into a job first.

  1. What failure does this build solve? Board chaos, slow bosses, minions, field disruption, or long-run deck bloat?
  2. Which piece is mandatory? Class job, dice type, relic, rune, or hand-size choice?
  3. What breaks it? Bad landing lanes, wrong boss pressure, no recovery, or too many off-plan dice?
  4. Can you test the job in one run? If not, simplify the route before calling the build bad.

Failure Checks

If this keeps happeningDo this nextDo not do this yet
Every reward looks useful.Write the class job in one sentence before taking the reward.Take another shiny relic because it sounds generally strong.
Runes are always saved until the run is lost.Pick a spend trigger before combat starts.Wait for a perfect emergency that arrives too late.
Bosses feel unfair.Name the boss pressure and buy the answer one route segment earlier.Assume more damage alone fixes field disruption or minions.
Classic Mode gets messy after the first map.Cut or ignore dice that do not serve the long-run hand plan.Grow the deck just because every die was useful once.
