Hold The Mine Early Access Impact Guide

Last updated: July 16, 2026Early AccessRoute decisions

Hold The Mine Early Access is best read as a route-discipline test: mine by day only as far as the next night can justify, turn resources into one clear surface plan, and use buildings, heroes, upgrades, relics, and pivots to solve the next wave instead of collecting half-finished answers. If a run fails at night, diagnose the missing layer before pushing deeper on the next day.

Early Access Priority Table

Early Access pressureWhat it means for your runOpen this guideSafe decision
Day mining feels rewardingMore resources only matter if they become wave-ready power before night.Mining RouteStop digging when the next spend is clear enough to protect the surface.
Night waves break the surfaceThe route is missing first contact, cleanup, scaling, or recovery.Wave SurvivalFix the failed wave role before expanding the mine route.
Buildings and heroes compete for resourcesSupport tools should solve the same wave problem, not split the board.Buildings and HeroesPair each building or hero with a named job before buying the next one.
Upgrade timing feels unclearThe next upgrade should unlock the next day/night cycle, not just look efficient.Upgrade PriorityBuy for the bottleneck that stopped the previous wave or delayed the next spend.
Relics, perks, ruins, or powers change the planThe run may need a pivot, but only if the pivot answers a real pressure point.Route ReferencePivot around the strongest solved layer, not every new reward.

Early Access Rewards Clear Loops

Hold The Mine is built around a day/night loop: mine during the day, prepare the surface, then survive monster pressure at night. That makes the daily loop more important than any single upgrade label. A good day is not the day with the deepest mine by itself. It is the day that gives you enough resources to survive the next night and set up the next cycle.

When the run feels slow, do not ask only whether mining was strong. Ask whether the route converted mining into buildings, heroes, perks, relic value, or upgrades in time. If the answer is unclear, the next guide to open is the route reference, not a speculative tier list.

What To Recheck After Updates

Because Hold The Mine is in an evolving release window, future changes can move the pressure point without making your whole route obsolete. Keep the test narrow. If mining changes, re-check stop-and-spend timing. If waves change, re-check first contact and cleanup. If buildings or heroes change, re-check whether each support pick still has one job.

Early Access Route Checklist

  1. Mine for a named spend. If the resource does not become power before night, deeper mining may be greed.
  2. Prepare one wave answer first. Choose whether the next fix is first contact, cleanup, scaling, or recovery.
  3. Make buildings and heroes work together. A hero that does not cover the building plan is not solving the wave.
  4. Upgrade the slowest layer. Spending on a strong-looking system can still be wrong if a different layer stopped the run.
  5. Review failed nights before the next day. The failure tells you whether to mine differently, spend earlier, or pivot support.

Official Patch #10 and v0.7.41 Retest Map

The official May 26 Patch #10 is a good example of why an Early Access route should be retested in pieces. It added weather events, fifth powers for the Sea Witch, Huntress, and Dragon Hunter, two relics, one building, a shop or demolition shortcut, and a faster first trigger for periodic and summon effects. The June 2 v0.7.41 hotfix then changed Gold Digger Tent's cost and fixed several battle and interface issues. That is not one balance change. It is four different reasons to watch the next run.

Official change typeWhat to watchDo not overreact by...Useful next test
New powers, relics, or buildingWhether the new option fills a job the board already needs.Rebuilding around it before it survives one night.Give it one job: first contact, cleanup, scaling, or recovery.
Earlier first periodic or summon triggerWhether the effect now arrives before first contact breaks.Assuming the entire wave is solved; later triggers return to the normal cooldown.Compare the first pressure point with the rest of the same night.
Building cost changeWhether the planned spend still fits before night.Changing every mining choice after one cost moved.Move only the checkpoint for the affected purchase.
Bug or UI fixWhether the old loss came from the route or from bad information.Calling a fixed display or trigger a balance buff.Repeat the same narrow test before changing the plan.
