Kinny Reaction and Route Reference

Kinny beside the cauldron while the score and current combo are visible.
The cauldron frame keeps the active combination and its score in view. Steam

A busy cauldron is not a productive one. Every pickup needs a job in the scoring line before it earns space in the deck.

The short version

In Kinny and the Cosmic Cauldron, a good route is not the one with the most ingredients. A good route is the one where reactions repeat, rewards support the current scoring line, and new pieces do not make the cauldron unreadable. If the run feels clever but the score is stuck, stop adding pieces and diagnose the route job.

A later Kinny cauldron combination with a different score state.
The changed score state shows why a working ingredient order still needs room to resolve. Steam

Reaction Reading Table

Signal What it means Best response Read next
Reaction scores once Possible route; repeat it before committing Try to repeat it before building around it Ingredient Reactions
Cauldron becomes unreadable Deck bloat is hiding the useful chain Stop adding off-plan ingredients Deck Consistency
Score target is short The route is stable but underpowered Choose repeatability, payoff, control, trimming, or a safe pivot before adding pieces Score Panic Recovery
Reward choice feels random You have not named the route problem Sort rewards by consistency, reaction support, score push, or safe pivot Beginner Guide
One ingredient keeps tempting you The route may be chasing novelty instead of repeatability Ask whether it plugs into the current chain before taking it Common Mistakes

Reward Job Table

Reward job Pick it when Skip it when
Consistency The same useful reaction needs to happen more often The deck already repeats cleanly and needs score
Reaction support You have seen the same interaction work more than once You are guessing from one lucky collision
Score push The route works but fails the target pace The route cannot set itself up reliably
Deck trimming Too many pickups hide the best reaction The deck is still too small to repeat anything
Novel ingredient It plugs into the current chain It starts a second unrelated plan

Route Diagnosis Steps

  1. Replay the best reaction. A route begins when the useful setup can happen again.
  2. Check the score gap. If the route repeats but scores too slowly, rewards should push score, not add novelty.
  3. Cut the noise. If the cauldron is unreadable, stop adding ingredients that do not support the scoring line.
  4. Name the next job. Consistency, reaction support, score push, trimming, or safe pivot should guide the next reward.

Common Reference Mistakes

Do not build around one lucky dish. A single high-scoring reaction is a clue, not a route. The route begins when you can repeat the setup without flooding the deck.

Do not take every new ingredient. New pieces are useful only when they support the current chain, improve consistency, or solve the next score target.

Do not preserve an old scoring line after its pieces change. Keep the reaction job—consistency, control, or payoff—and replace the ingredient or reward that no longer performs it.
