Romestead Logistics Tent and Automation Timing Guide
Push toward the Logistics Tent after your settlement can feed itself, keep storage readable, survive the night reset, and prepare Guardian of Minerva without breaking the base. Hotfix 0.25.1_7 moved the Logistics Tent reward to Guardian of Minerva, so automation is now an earlier progression target, but it is still not a reason to rush a boss attempt with messy food, scattered materials, or unsupported crafting.
What this guide helps with
The Logistics Tent is tempting because it sounds like it will fix base chaos. It will not fix a bad layout by itself. If your town has no clear storage zones, carts are blocked, stations are waiting for inputs, and players dump everything in random piles, automation usually makes the mess faster instead of cleaner.
Treat Guardian of Minerva as a route checkpoint, not a panic button. The right timing is when manual hauling is clearly slowing you down and the base is stable enough to turn a boss reward into a real logistics upgrade.
The trap is thinking automation will forgive a sloppy base. It will not. If this is happening, it usually means the settlement has a routing problem, not a boss-reward problem: the cart path is vague, the storage target is vague, and every worker is "helping" in a different direction. Stop chasing Guardian for one day, make one repeated route readable, then push the reward.

What The 0.25.1_7 Change Means
The official Hotfix 0.25.1_7 notes say the Logistics Tent is now a reward from defeating Guardian of Minerva. The developer note also says there was demand for automation earlier in the game and that this spot was considered more suitable. That changes guide planning: Guardian is no longer just a boss-progression point. It is also a practical logistics milestone.
This does not mean every run should rush Guardian immediately. It means you should ask a sharper question: is your base ready to turn automation into time saved? If the answer is no, prep the base first. If the answer is yes, Guardian becomes a high-value route objective.
Think of it like unlocking logistics in a factory game: the upgrade is only strong when the factory already has lanes. If the inputs are all dumped in one heroic trash pile, the Logistics Tent is not a magic organizer. It multiplies whatever routing habits you already have.
Route Priority After The Hotfix
- Stabilize food and night reset. The settlement should survive a normal day without emergency sorting or recovery panic.
- Clean the repeated storage loops. Put repeated station inputs near the station chain that uses them.
- Use gates and cart paths deliberately. Automatic gates now reduce friction, but only if the route is readable.
- Prepare Guardian as a logistics milestone. Once repeated hauling is the bottleneck, Guardian becomes more than a combat objective.
- Use automation to support one active chain first. Do not try to automate every messy job at once.
Automation Readiness Drill
Run this drill before turning Guardian into the next objective. It takes less time than a failed boss push, and it catches the difference between a settlement that needs automation and a settlement that needs cleanup.
Storage, Gates, And Task Priority
Hotfix 0.25.1_7 also increased material storage capacity, made gates automatically open and close for players and carts, and made non-repeating tasks take priority over repeating tasks when ordered. Those changes all point in the same direction: the base should become easier to run if your layout has clear jobs.
Solo Automation Timing
Solo routes need to be picky. You do not have extra people to cover a broken base while you chase Guardian. Push the Logistics Tent route when manual hauling is clearly wasting more time than boss prep will cost. If you still spend every day rescuing food, sorting piles, and repairing night damage, wait.
Your run is not dead yet if automation is late. It is more dangerous to unlock it early and then spend the next day discovering that the town cannot feed the automated job. A clean solo recovery move is boring: finish food, clear one storage lane, make one station chain work, and only then turn Guardian into the next objective.
- Finish one reliable food loop.
- Move repeated crafting inputs beside the active station chain.
- Set one return drop zone for exploration and boss prep.
- Make a conservative Guardian prep run.
- After the reward, automate one repeated bottleneck before expanding.
Co-op Automation Timing
Co-op groups can push Guardian earlier if roles are clean. The risk is that more players create more loose materials, half-built stations, and unclear tasks. Assign one base caller before the group starts chasing automation.

How to use this guide
Use this guide after the Logistics Tent becomes part of your route. The main question is not "how much can I automate?" It is whether automation removes a real hauling wall, keeps carts and gates moving, and lets workers focus on crafting or boss prep.
