Romestead updates

Romestead Version Updates

This page tracks changes that may affect resource hauling, crafting order, god restoration, settlement defense, co-op roles, and exploration routes.

Quick answer: use this update tracker when a Romestead patch changes food pressure, logistics, gates, citizen tasks, boss resets, or biome stability. If your settlement suddenly feels weaker after an update, check the hotfix guide first, then retest hauling, storage, and night-defense assumptions before changing the whole base layout.

What to Recheck First

Patch changeFirst route questionGuide to reopenDo not assume
Food, hunger, or citizen behavior changesCan the first settlement survive the same opening without starving?Beginner Guide and Resource HaulingDo not keep expanding just because the old route worked before.
Storage, hauling, or Logistics Tent changesAre repeated jobs still close enough to avoid idle walking?Logistics Tent AutomationDo not add more production before confirming the hauling chain.
Gates, enemies, or night pressure changesDoes the base need earlier defense or a smaller footprint?Night DefenseDo not blame citizens before checking pathing and gate placement.
Boss, dungeon, or biome fixesCan the same prep route still enter safely?First Boss PrepDo not treat old boss resets or crash fixes as current route rules.

One-Minute Patch Retest

  1. Load the settlement that felt stable before the update.
  2. Watch one work cycle and name the first visible delay: food, haul, storage, task priority, gate, defense, or boss prep.
  3. Open only the guide tied to that delay and adjust one route rule.
  4. Run the same kind of cycle again before moving buildings or switching gods.
  5. If the delay moved forward, keep the fix; if it stayed in the same place, the patch probably exposed an older base-layout problem.
