Vampire Crawlers Crawler Card Builds

Last updated: July 2, 2026Character rolesCurrent-build checks

Build Vampire Crawlers characters by job, not by name value. Pugnala, Giovanna, and Poe are draw-route signals. Mortaccio, Bianca, and Gennaro point toward Amount payoffs only if your current rewards provide a real hit-count card. Krochi, Iguana Gallo, and O'Sole fit safer gold, revive, and control routes when their current tooltips still support that job. If the card does not serve the crawler's job this run, it is probably clutter.

What this guide helps with

The trap is recruiting a crawler, then forcing the same deck you played last run. Vampire Crawlers punishes that. A crawler is not just a skin; it is a hint about what the hand wants to do. If the character gives draw pressure, feed the hand. If the character gives Amount, give it a projectile payoff. If the character gives revive or freeze safety, stop pretending it is a pure damage carry and use it to survive the dangerous turn.

This is closer to deckbuilding than a normal character select screen. You are not asking, "Who is best?" You are asking, "What failure does this crawler make easier to solve?" Once that answer is clear, the card picks become much less noisy.

Do not treat this hand like a tier list. The right card depends on enemy pressure, mana, and whether the card you are building around will survive the turn.

Draw Characters: Pugnala, Giovanna, Poe

This is the group to study when you want long turns. Pugnala and Giovanna help push draw-heavy routes, while Poe gives a practical early control angle through Garlic-style safety. The goal is not to click forever. The goal is to keep the hand replacing itself until a real finisher appears.

  1. Stabilize the hand first. Tomes, wildcards, and draw support matter before another shiny damage card.
  2. Watch mana before damage. If the hand stops moving, your strong cards are just expensive decorations.
  3. End the turn before cracks own you. A long Turboturn is only good if the important cards survive it.

Amount Characters: Mortaccio, Bianca, Gennaro

Amount builds feel obvious, so players often misbuild them. More projectiles only matter when the card being multiplied is worth multiplying. If you take Amount early but never find Bone, Runetracer, dual guns, or another real payoff, the run will look loud and still lose boss damage checks.

Gold and Boss-Control Characters: Krochi, Iguana Gallo, O'Sole

Krochi, Iguana Gallo, and O'Sole are not just a money trio. Krochi gives safety, Gallo points toward Clock Lancet and Greed value, and O'Sole helps keep trigger-heavy runs from feeling dead. Use them when the goal is account growth, boss-control practice, or a safer farm, not when you want the fastest pure damage route.

If you are farming, protect Coin Count + Mild. If you are practicing boss control, read the Red Death and Trickster guide before forcing late freeze timing. The advanced payout is not where you learn the deck; it is where you cash out a deck that already works.

Beginner Route Characters

Imelda, Pasqualina, Antonio, and Gennaro are useful because they teach simple route questions: can you grow, can you aim damage, can you build an evolution, and can you keep a hand clean? Do not underrate them just because later crawlers look flashier. A clean beginner route teaches more than a failed late-game combo you did not understand.

Build Adjustment Notes

Use the crawler's job as the anchor. A gold farmer, a freeze-control run, and a revive safety build should not all draft the same hand just because one card looks rare.

Adjust after the fight tells you what is missing. If draw, Amount, mana, freeze, revive, or gold-farm value shifts in a patch, keep the job first and swap the card line around that pressure instead of rebuilding from a generic tier list.
