Indie Game Radar

Find an indie game worth learning, not just another backlog item.

This page is the short route into One More Run Guides: which indie games are worth a deeper look, what kind of player each game fits, and which guide to open first if you decide to play.

Quick answer

Start with Rotwood if you want action combat timing, Romestead if you want survival settlement pressure, Vampire Crawlers if you want card builds and weapon evolutions, or Pandora's Toybox if you want faith economy and god-route decisions. If you only know the problem, use the tables below.

Which indie game should you try first?

If you want... Try this first Why it is worth learning First guide to open
Short runs where your dodges, punish windows, and co-op spacing matter. Rotwood The good lesson is not only the weapon choice. It is learning why a hunt failed: greedy punish, weak gear support, bad role split, or poor boss prep. Failed Hunt Recovery
A survival builder where small logistics mistakes snowball. Romestead The interesting part is the bottleneck chain: food, storage, hauling, night defense, automation, then boss prep. It rewards fixing the first broken link. First Settlement Recovery Ladder
Deckbuilding plus old-school dungeon routing. Vampire Crawlers Good runs depend on matching crawler roles, sockets, evolutions, relics, and gold spending instead of copying a recipe list blindly. Route Reference
A god-game route where belief, punishment, and war pressure collide. Pandora's Toybox It is best when you treat gods, Faith, prayers, artifacts, and Holy War as one pressure system rather than separate unlock checklists. God and Faith Reference
Creature builds, eggs, genes, breeding, and route identity. Voidling Bound The value is in choosing one creature job, then using eggs, genes, breeding, and evolution to support that job instead of splitting every system. Egg and Breeding Route

Choose by the problem you want to solve

Player problem Open this first Why it helps
You are new and do not know the first safe route. Rotwood beginner or Romestead beginner These pages start with stable first decisions instead of late-game optimization.
Your build keeps splitting in too many directions. Rotwood weapon roles or Voidling evolution paths They force the run to choose one job before spending upgrades or chasing every reward.
A resource or production chain keeps stalling. FEED THE QUEEN food chain or Romestead hauling They diagnose the first bottleneck before recommending bigger upgrades.
A patch changed the game and old advice feels unsafe. Updates and patch notes explained Patch-impact pages translate notes into route, build, and retry decisions.
The run is already weak and you need to recover. Everything is Crab weak-run recovery or Hold The Mine recovery Recovery pages focus on stabilizing the next few decisions instead of restarting too early.

How we decide what belongs here

A game does not need to be huge to earn a place on this site. It needs a loop where players can make better decisions after one failed run: a route to repair, a build role to clarify, a resource chain to diagnose, or an update that changes old habits.

  1. If the game has no meaningful second-run lesson, it is a watch item, not a guide target.
  2. If the game has strong systems but thin English help, it can become a full guide collection.
  3. If the best available advice is a forum claim or video pattern, we turn it into a testable decision rather than a fake rule.
  4. If a patch may change the advice, the page should explain what to re-check in game.
  5. If the first page cannot help a player within one run, the topic is not ready for public coverage.
