Treat each weapon disk as a job, not a collectible. Before choosing a gun, sword, hammer, or upgrade, ask what the route is missing: a usable shield answer, room clear, a held boss charge, or a reset when the color lane breaks.

When Every Weapon Adds a Different Plan
A large weapon and upgrade pool is useful only when the route has a job. If you take every interesting charge idea, the room clear may look active while the boss plan stays weak.
Weapon Job Table

Quick clearNormal rooms are draining too much health or time.Pair with grid matches that keep lanes open while charge builds. Can enter bosses without a clean damage window.
Safe controlThe room clips you before damage matters.Use matches that preserve exit lanes and delay panic spending. Can become too slow if no payoff is added.
Boss burstYou reach bosses consistently but lose during long patterns.Save a charged window and stop spending every charge in room clear. Can make early rooms brittle if the charge plan is greedy.
RecoveryMistakes snowball and the route needs time to reset.Build around safer matches and smaller cash-outs.May fail if the boss needs stronger pressure now.
Upgrade Filter
When a weapon upgrade appears, do not ask whether it is generally strong. Ask what it fixes in the current route. The same upgrade idea can be correct on a run that needs boss burst and wrong on a run that cannot keep the grid safe long enough to spend the charge.

Charge Only When the Board Can Use It
Weapon charging is not separate from tile matching. If the next match produces the wrong color for the threat, a ready weapon can still be the wrong answer. Use the charge plan as a two-part check: can this weapon solve the pressure in front of me, and does the current board still let me create the attack color or lane that supports it?

Charge is ready but never safe to spend. The weapon job and grid job are mismatched.Read Grid Control before changing weapons.

Boss damage arrives late. The route spends charge too freely before the boss window.Use Boss Prep to hold one planned window.
